RAISE BORING

The Raise Boring drilling technique is a drilling method used to create a vertical well in the subsurface. It is a very specialized technique and is used to drill wells that are too deep for conventional drilling.

This technique is used primarily in underground mining and tunneling, as it allows for accurate and safe vertical excavation of large diameters, which can be difficult or impossible to achieve with conventional drilling techniques. In addition, the Raise Boring drilling technique is much safer and more efficient than conventional drilling techniques, since it minimizes the need for manual work in the well and reduces the risk of collapses and accidents.

PROCESS

The Raise Boring drilling process involves the creation of a pilot hole, using a conventional drilling machine, which is then reamed using a Raise Boring machine. The Raise Boring machine has a cutter head that is used to excavate the hole from the bottom up, while conventional drilling rig provides support and stability as the hole is enlarged.
